Since 1988, we have used a centuries-old craft and art form to construct timber frame structures and components of distinguished character and beauty. We utilize state-of-the-art CAD design and CNC machine technology to design and fabricate all timber frame components, while our experienced craftsmen finish and test fit every solid wood joint that comes out of our shop. We invite you to take a tour of the four general product classifications below to see what is possible. And our design and production teams are always ready to begin new and exciting projects, unique to you!
Timber frame construction requires an obsessive attention to detail. Unlike traditional stick-built construction, where everything is hidden, timber framers expose their materials and craftsmanship. We only use solid wood timbers in a variety of species, including Douglas fir, red/white oak, pine, Port Orford cedar, and aromatic eastern red cedar. Each mortise-and-tenon joint is precision machined and then carefully hand fitted. Hardwood pegs are driven through each joint to set it in place and keep it tight. Authentic timber frame structures don't use metal lag bolts, or plates to join structural members together, that would be sacrilege. We consider every wood joint to be a union of craftsmanship and material, a functional work of art that is meant to viewed and admired.
