For the first 10 years of operation, we built our timber frames using the traditional method of cutting joinery by hand using a hammer and chisel. Today, we combine hand-cut joinery with modern innovation to produce an elite product.
When Hans Hundegger invented the first K-1 Hundegger machine in Germany, Texas Timber Frames was one of the first in America to have one imported here. The K-1 cuts the mortise and tenon joinery utilizing a sophisticated relationship between computer programming and machine innovation for crafting each timber to a tolerance of 1/32 of an inch. This process greatly reduces our turnaround time for your timber frame, and we are able to pass that
savings of time and money to you.
However, no machine is able to cut the complicated, beautiful joinery of which our experienced timber framers are capable. When cutting essential, detailed aspects of a timber our lead timber framer and his crew are unmatched in their skill and craftsmanship in the industry. |
