  Timber Framing History
The green Timber Frames

The method of joining timbers together in the traditional mortise and tenon style was necessary hundreds of years ago when nails and fasteners were not available. When these components of modern building became available, there was a decline in the craftsmanship of homebuilding in favor of the easily mass-produced housing that is so common in today’s market. However; we at Texas Timber Frames believe that there are a growing number of people who want and demand a higher quality product for their money. If you are one of these people, we look forward to working with you on your next building project!
